Welcome to The Authors & Writers Association (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”). By participating in any of our activities, including but not limited to writing challenges, workshops, events, and contests, you agree to adhere to the following terms and conditions -
- Eligibility: Participation in the Association's activities is open to individuals who meet the specific eligibility criteria set forth for each activity. Such criteria may include age restrictions, membership status, or other prerequisites as deemed necessary by the Association.
- Original Work: Participants warrant that all submissions and contributions made to the Association's activities are their original creations and do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Rights and Permissions: By submitting any work or content to the Association's activities, participants grant the Association exclusive rights to use, display, reproduce, and distribute the submitted content for promotional and commercial purposes related to the specific activity. Participants will retain full ownership of their copyright, intellectual property rights and 95% of royalties that made from their work or content. The other 5% from royalties will be contributed back to our association.
- Code of Conduct: All participants are expected to conduct themselves with respect, professionalism, and courtesy during the course of any Association activity. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of disrespectful behavior towards other participants, organizers, staffs, and committee members will not be tolerated.
- Plagiarism and Misrepresentation: Plagiarism, misrepresentation, or any form of dishonesty in the submissions or actions related to the Association's activities will result in immediate disqualification and may lead to the revocation of membership or participation privileges.
- Submission Guidelines: Participants must follow the submission guidelines provided for each writing challenge, including the specified theme (if any), word count limits (if any), file format, and submission deadline. Late entries will not be accepted.
- Judging and Decisions: The decisions of the judging panel or organizing committee for the Association's activities, such as writing challenges or contests, are final and binding. Participants agree to accept and abide by the results without dispute.
- Prizes and Recognition: In activities where prizes or recognition are offered, participants understand that prize distribution may be subject to applicable laws and regulations, and the Association reserves the right to modify or substitute prizes as necessary.
- Publicity and Promotion: Participants acknowledge and agree that their names, submitted works, and associated information may be used by the Association for promotional and publicity purposes related to the specific activity.
- Disclaimer: The Association does not guarantee the publication, production, or commercialization of any work submitted to its activities.
- Modification and Termination: The Association reserves the right to modify or cancel any activity, including writing challenges, workshops, or events, at its discretion. In such cases, reasonable efforts will be made to notify participants in advance.
- Liability: The Association, its management teams, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect damages, losses, or injuries arising from participation in its activities.
- Indemnification: Participants agree to indemnify and hold the Association, its organizers, and affiliates harmless from any claims, demands, or liabilities arising from their participation in the Association's activities.
- Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
By participating in any of The Authors & Writers Association's activities, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. These terms may be updated or revised from time to time, and the most recent version will be available on the Association's official website.
